On May 18, Beijing NGO Network for International Exchanges (hereinafter Beijing NGO) held the fifth meeting of the third session of the Council both online and offline. The meeting summarized the work of Beijing NGO in 2021, and studied and made plans for the work in 2022. The meeting elected Dai Jianjun, the level II inspector of Beijing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Vice President of Beijing NGO, to concurrently serve as the Secretary-General of Beijing NGO, and elected Sun Wuquan of the Beijing Federation of Social Sciences Circles, Sun Zhujun of the Beijing Women’s Federation, Su Guomin of Beijing Association for Science and Technology, and Chang Rongfu of the Beijing Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese as council members of Beijing NGO. President Zhao Wenzhi attended the meeting and gave a speech. Executive Vice President Zhang Qian presided over the meeting.
　　In the speech, President Zhao Wenzhi said that Beijing NGO should earnestly study and follow Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy and General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important statements on people-to-people diplomacy work, have a solid grasp of the current complex situation at home and abroad, and arrange member units to strengthen the study and education on the situation and tasks. It is necessary to leverage the role of council members and member units, and stimulate their initiative for participating in people-to-people international exchanges. It is necessary to increase exchanges with youth groups of foreign countries, present a real view of China and Beijing, and spread the voice of China through foreign friends. It is necessary to plan for the general election of Beijing NGO, do a good job in amending the Charter, optimizing the composition of member units, etc., make new progress in the capital’s people-to-people exchanges with foreign countries, and present excellent results as a tribute to the 20th CPC National Congress.
