Hosted by the All-China Environment Federation jointly with China NGO Network for International Exchanges (CNIE), the Seminar on Civil Society Organization International Eco-Environmental Governance Capability Building and the 2023 International Conference of Environmental Civil Society Organizations were held in Beijing from April 26 to 27. Yuan Zhibing, head of CNIE and Xie Yuhong, Vice President and Secretary-General of the All-China Environment Federation attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks. Beijing NGO Network for International Exchanges (Beijing NGO), a member of CNIE, sent delegates to the seminar to communicate with other civil society organizations in various fields such as ecological conservation and environmental protection, climate and energy, and pollution prevention and control.
Beijing NGO is one of the first civil society organizations in Beijing to become an observer of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Paying high attention to biodiversity conservation and climate change, Beijing NGO has organized civil society organizations in Beijing to attend the UN Climate Change Conference to share the practices and solutions of China and Beijing in responding to climate change and achieving carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.
Through the seminar, Beijing NGO got a deeper understanding of the UNFCCC observer status, the three major environmental issues of ecological conservation, climate and energy, and population prevention and control, as well as the key environmental topics of international exchanges in 2023. Next step, Beijing NGO will continue to implement the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress, Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and Xi’s important instructions on participating in global climate change governance, pursing green development, promoting harmony between human and nature, etc. Beijing NGO will promote more civil society organizations in Beijing to speak out in the international arena and take concrete action to support the building of a community of life for humanity and nature.
